They taste good to her...




Happy Birthday to one of my favorite poets and yes, I'm aware that no one reads poetry anymore, thank you.  Here are a couple of special gifts from WCW, maybe they'll provide a little motivation...

To a Poor Old Woman

munching a plum on   
the street a paper bag
of them in her hand

They taste good to her
They taste good   
to her. They taste
good to her

You can see it by
the way she gives herself
to the one half
sucked out in her hand

Comforted
a solace of ripe plums
seeming to fill the air
They taste good to her

Winter Trees
All the complicated details
of the attiring and
the disattiring are completed!
A liquid moon
moves gently among
the long branches.
Thus having prepared their buds
against a sure winter
the wise trees
stand sleeping in the cold.
